Caricatured (and true)

The vanishing point where sky and sea connect seems such a familiar concept, yet when gazing into the hazed atmosphere of a seascape we tend to lose all sense of space, resulting in an experience that is indescribable and awe-inspiring. When living in the remote islands of the Torres Strait I spent many hours lost in these infinite horizons, confused by where cloud stopped and sea began. When relocating to southeast Queensland I continued to be drawn to these sublimeenvironments eventually forming the foundation for this body of work, which folds into abstraction just as the sky and sea most certainly do.
